The Silicon Sky

On occason I tire of surfing
and slide off a final breaker

onto the beach

Often I rest my motherboard against the dunes,
lie back on the silicon sands, and let the warmth of the

Server Suns dry the net's electronic spray

against my skin...

Other times I walk along the webshore

combing for invaluable trifles and worthless treasures...
Icons, curious gifs & jpegs,

backgrounds & squirming animations

I hold between thumb and forefinger against the plasma sky...

Finding something lovely,
intriguing,
or merely strange,
I drop it into a surf bag
around my waist,
and continue
tracking the silvery
silicon before me...

This I found
attached to a dead file,
washed ashore
during a sudden download...

I once saw a reef
composed of milliions of these
but only kept the pair...

I waded into a bytepool
to save this
from a
net urchin...

Later...
Sky
